Spicy Rye & Ginger Shandy

Ingredients

  • 2 cups lemonade 500 mL
  • 1 bottle Canadian lager 330 mL
  • 1 cup ginger ale 250 mL
  • 1/4 cup Canadian whisky 60 mL
  • ice cubes
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper 1 mL
  • 4 lemon twists
  • 4 red finger chilis
  • 4 pieces candied ginger
  • 4 wooden or metal cocktail skewers

Directions

  • Step 1

    In large pitcher, combine lemonade, beer, ginger ale and whisky.

  • Step 2

    Add ice cubes to 4 four tall glasses. Top with lemonade mixture. Sprinkle with cayenne pepper. Garnish each drink with a skewer threaded with a lemon twist, finger chili and pieces of candied ginger.

Tip

Use non-alcoholic ginger beer in place of ginger ale and lager for a virgin twist.
